Wood furniture and wood jewelry has become a hot trend. If you look on my pinterest account, you will see an entire board dedicated to wood furniture. There is something about wood that gives a sensual, sleek, and rustic look. It gives an earthy feel to your home and makes you feel relaxed.
I've seen wood necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, which I have made for myself! You will get to see a pair of earrings I made in some picture below. One thing I have never seen were wood watches. So when JORD/Wood Watches approached me to do a review on their product, I gladly accepted without hesitation. They were allowing me to give my honest unbiased opinion (which are the only reviews I do because I love giving all of you 100% truthful information), about their product. The watch I picked was the Sully Series in Cherry, (which you could see here on the JORD site). It is absolutely beautiful and stunning. The pictures don't do it justice.
The watch was fitted to my wrist which saves me time going to a jeweler. The watch came in a beautiful yet simple box. It was also wrapped tightly around a cute little pillow. I was expecting this watch to be heavy, and the face to be bigger than usual, but it wasn't. It surpassed all of my expectations. Did I mention that the time was already set when I received the watch?
I wore this watch the entire weekend while I was celebrating my kids' birthdays. We went to the Lehigh Valley Zoo and on a beautiful hiking trail. I could not help but take a picture on top of the mountain so you can see the beauty of it all. This watch fit right in with the atmosphere here. It was earthy, beautiful, elegant, exquisite and breathtaking. The face of the watch shows the natural grain of the wood which reminded me of the grains on the bark of a tree. Every grain is different, every watch is different.
JORD is a Swedish word meaning earth, soil, and land, so highlighting natural elements is a defined priority of the brand. JORD uses a variety of natural and sustainably sourced wood from across the globe. Their watches may contain one or multiple types of wood in line with the function and design of each watch. For example some of their current series feature bamboo, maple, sandalwood, blackwood, cherry, zebrawood, koa, purple heart, ebony and rosewood. Their watches are 100% natural and refrain from using any toxic chemicals.
JORD wood watches is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material or workmanship at the time of delivery for a period of no longer than twelve months. This card comes in the box with your watch. On the back of the card you are to write your information. If you would need to contact them about the warranty, the web address is listed on the card or you could head over to their warranty claim page on their site. It also comes with an authenticity card in the box.
This is my oldest. We went to the movies on her birthday to see Paper Towns and of course I wore my watch! |
They are detailed in every design of their watch. As you can see, there is their logo on the little knob. You can also see their craftsmanship on the face of the watch from this side view and the beautiful maple colored wood.
On the back they have engraved their company name which is nicely centered. I usually see other watches (that are metal) engraved with their company names and their usually off center or slightly slanted. The model (Sully Series) watch I received is priced at $139 and it is well worth every single dollar. I received so many compliments and questions last weekend that I was seriously contemplating making a sign and hanging it around my neck (lol). JORD ships anywhere in the world so don't fret my friends from across the globe, you can buy this watch too (or any other watch you fall in love with from their collection)!
I would definitely recommend JORD wood watches and have been since I received it. My friends and family have all fallen in love with this watch and I'm sure you will too. I was very happy with my selection and I wear it every single day. It's not only great for the summer weather, but for all four seasons. In the fall it goes with the falling leaves, in the winter with the falling snow and scarves and in the spring, with the flowers that are beginning to bloom. Check out my YouTube video review below!
That surprise I told you all about is posted on my blog already (which you can see by clicking here), so go check it out!
